Mylissa Fitzsimmons

Mylissa spent her early years in Moab, Utah then as a teenager in Oregon. In high school she took to skateboarding and photography, photographing bands and making super 8 skate videos. It was during her last year of school she was introduced to documentary filmmaking by a teacher. Her first short documentary film, The Secret Lives of Suburban Moms and her photography caught the attention of some tour managers and she bounced around between Seattle and LA in her early twenties photographing bands and making short music documentaries. Recently, she transitioned to writing, directing and producing narrative films. Her films include, Long Way Home, My First Love, Mercy, and the award wining short films, That Party That One Night and Who Decides. She has many producing credits including on the Tribeca winning film Cul-de-Sac, she was a Screen Craft finalist for her short story Red Clay Halo that was optioned and turned onto a short film, a 2018 HBO Directing Fellowship semi-finalist and The Sun Valley Film Festival Short Film Lab winner with her script to screen short film, Who Decides. Recently she was invited to participate in The Reykjavik Talent Lab in Iceland. Her films have played at various film festivals around the world and can be seen online. She splits her time between Los Angeles, CA and UK, with her husband, two kids and a dog.
